Rustebakke Veterinary Service is seeking to expand its equine and large animal service offerings with an additional full time associate veterinarian.
Rustebakke Veterinary Service is a 4 doctor practice located in south east Washington on the Idaho Washington border, and 35 miles north of the Oregon border. Our modern facility, built in 2009, is home to 4 doctors with access to wireless digital radiology (capable for in house or ambulatory use), diagnostic and reproductive ultrasound (including equine and bovine reproductive ultrasound), Idexx in-house laboratory, therapeutic laser, and dental radiology (small animal). Our practice offers clients 24-hour on call emergency service. Emergency on-call duties (mixed animal) and Saturday hours are rotated among associate veterinarians.
The associate veterinarian will join the team with the goal of maintaining our current level of service, and expansion of services. Currently our large animal services include approximately 80% equine, varying from performance horses to pasture pets, 15% bovine (primarily cow/calf), with the remainder composed of a variety of small ruminant and other food animal species. Time permitting, you will also have the opportunity to work in our AAHA approved small animal clinic.a
The Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, home to Rustebakke Veterinary Service, is located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers. Immediate access to excellent fishing, hunting, boating, rafting, hiking, snowmobiling, and more is available. We sit within an hour of two major universities, a local state college, and a community college. The community is semi-rural, but offers many amenities and surrounding small communities.
Compensation for a large animal associate depends on experience. We offer a pro-sal compensation model. Benefits include a stipend for CE, vacation time, and sick leave (earned annually). The right candidate will have potential for practice buy in as well.
DVM or equivalent, able to acquire Washington and Idaho veterinary licenses.

We are a four veterinarian mixed animal practice located in the Snake River Valley in Southeastern Washington in an outdoorsman's paradise, with easy access to some of the most beautiful back country areas in the country. We have four seasons with very mild winters. We have a 6 year old facility with a modern small animal hospital, indoor equine treatment and surgery with indoor stalls, equine are...na and round pen, and a bovine facility.
We are located 30 miles south of two major universities, Washington State University, and the University of Idaho. We enjoy good cooperation with both Universities, including accepting preceptor senior Veterinary Students from WSU.
We are seeking either an experienced veterinarian or a recent graduate who has a good work ethic, commitment to the Veterinary Profession, and a willingness to learn and to teach. Our primary need is for help on the large animal side, which is primarily Equine medicine and surgery with some bovine and small ruminant.
We have most of the toys than make practice fun including digital radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, a modern in house laboratory integrated with our practice management system, and a friendly and outgoing staff. We are looking for a person to enhance our already outstanding team; future buy in is a definite possibility.
