The Center for Avian and Exotic Medicine is excited to have a unique opportunity for an associate veterinarian at our exotics only, New York City practice. The Center is staffed with two full-time veterinarians plus 5 licensed veterinary technicians and other professional support staff. Our 7-day-a week practice is vibrant, exciting, and filled with opportunity. We are dedicated to providing exceptional client service and patient care, while ensuring our employees have a balanced lifestyle. Our philosophy is to protect these amazing animals while educating the public about them. We also believe in giving back to our community, and are very active with several shelters and rescue groups to help unwanted or abandoned exotic pets.
We are looking for an exotic specialist who is board certified/board eligible, or has enough clinical experience to be ready to jump in to our thriving practice. While we do a lot of teaching and host many veterinary and vet tech students, this position is only for qualified exotic veterinarians who are able to perform excellent case management without further training. We also have a high surgical case load and the position requires exceptional surgical skills including small mammal, reptilian, and avian soft tissue, orthopedic, and spay/neutering.
Benefits to partnering with us include fantastic co-workers, occasional complimentary stressful-day lunches, frequent caffeine incentives, flexible scheduling, competitive pay, health care with flex-spending options, paid vacation time, paid sick days, and a generous continuing education stipend.
Our practice is busy, and our days can be long. But every day is filled with exciting new cases, interesting and committed clients, and an incredibly hard working and caring staff. Please consider joining us!
Board certified/eligible in avian, reptilian/amphibian, exotic small mammal, or candidate must have enough clinical and surgical experience to begin work without training/teaching.
