The Humane Society of the South Platte Valley is 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. We are looking for a flexible veterinarian who is licensed in the state of Colorado to perform spay and neuter surgeries on dogs and cats. We are a high volume spay and neuter facility and we are looking to expand and increase the amount of surgeries we perform. Being experienced and comfortable with performing these surgeries is a must. The ability to perform soft tissue surgeries, enucleations, entropion surgery, and an occasional amputation is preferred. Consulting on shelter medical cases may occur from time to time, but the main responsibility of this position is to perform 15-20+ spay/neuter surgeries daily. This is a part time position working 3-4 days per week. Salary to be discussed during interview
-Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university. -Demonstrated excellent surgical skills. -Experience as a veterinarian in a high surgical volume environment. -Current Colorado Veterinary License with clean practice record. -Current DEA license or ability to obtain. -Strong interpersonal communication skills. -Must be positive, flexible, and work well with coworkers and the public. -Must treat animals and humans with kindness and respect.
