We are currently looking for a lead veterinary receptionist to join our veterinary team at Kearny Mesa Veterinary Center in San Diego, California. We are a 25 year AHAA accredited hospital and are looking for someone who shares our desire to provide the highest quality of care to both our patients as well as our clients. We need someone with an extreme attention to detail, who can be given direction and follow through with precision, someone who can insure that tasks are completed with care and accuracy so our patients continue to receive the high standard of medicine that our veterinarians practice.
Tasks and skills required would include overseeing the day-to-day functions of the CSR staff, critical thinking and problem solving, client-conflict resolution, hiring and training of CSR employees, developing and enforcing procedures and protocols, and participating in management and doctor meetings, and working with the practice owner and hospital manager to identify, manage, and solve issues to better improve our hospital, business, and medicine. Knowledge of the avimark practice management software is a plus, but not a requirement. We operate our medical records through our computer network, so basic Windows computer knowledge is needed. Our hospital is open Monday thru Saturday from 7:30am - 6:00pm. Our staff enjoy 4 day work-weeks, with 10 hours each scheduled shift.
We consider each employee as part of a team. We back each other up, we help when needed, even when not asked, no one is considered above a task if it needs to be done - cleaning up dog and cat poop is done by everyone from kennel tech to practice owner. We all knew what we were getting into with veterinary medicine, after all! We all want to like coming to work. We work to keep things fun and friendly between staff.
