The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) seeks to fill a permanent, tenure-track, full-time, 12-month position with the Agricultural Animal and Field Disease Investigation Unit at the assistant or associate professor level. Salary and rank are commensurate with academic credentials and experience. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a field-based research program while providing clinical services to a variety of livestock operations including beef (cow-calf and feedlot), dairy, small ruminant, and swine with an emphasis in agricultural animal population health. The position includes both clinical and didactic instruction to veterinary students. This position involves communication with practitioners, owners and farm workers as well as collaborative work with College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science colleagues.

Candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or a related foreign equivalent degree (such as a BVSc), an advanced graduate degree in Veterinary Science or related field, and three years of clinical training or experience in food animal medicine by the time of hire. The successful applicant must also work collegially and collaboratively with internal and external constituents. A record of peer reviewed publications commensurate with training by the time of hire is also required.
Preferred qualifications include a PhD, or board certification or board-eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Large Animal (LA-ACVIM); or American Board of Veterinary Practitioner (ABVP) Dairy, Beef, or Food Animal Practice; or American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM) at the time of hire.
