Feline Practitioner wanted.
Picture driving to work viewing Mt. Rainier to the south and Bald Eagles overhead. Island Cats Veterinary Hospital sits on Mercer Island, Washington, 6 miles from Seattle. There truly is a small town feel despite being in the middle of the vibrant Puget Sound Region. Now picture working in a stable environment (1 owner since opening in 1996), with an experienced staff comprised of 3 licensed veterinary technicians, and where the 2 current vets have over 60 years of combined experience to be able to provide exceptional mentorship to an incoming full-time associate (‘20 grads welcome). And maybe the biggest perk is that there are no dog smells or sounds! Competitive compensation and benefits. Full time is preferred, but part time will be considered. Island Cats is the only Feline exclusive WSU preceptor site, which means plenty of opportunities to mentor future colleagues. Email Dr. Marshall directly to submit your resume and cover letter (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Washington State.
About Island Cats Veterinary Hospital
Island Cats Veterinary Hospital was established in 1996 as an independent feline-only practice on Mercer Island, Washington. Mercer Island is a Seattle suburb located on Lake Washington that has an upscale, small-town feel. The practice clientele is generally highly educated and interested in the well-being of their cats. They appreciate Island Cats’ experienced, professional support staff, and the fact that the two practicing veterinarians have more than 60 years of clinical feline practice experience between them. Island Cats gives back to the community in many ways. We partner with local and global charities to help provide pet care for low income families, and to decrease human rabies exposure in Africa. The practice helps to develop future veterinarians as a Washington State University CVM preceptor site, by educating 4th year veterinary students during clinical rotations. Dr. Marshall currently serves as immediate Past-President of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, in the House of Delegates for the American Veterinary Medical Association, as a Board member for the Women's Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative, and as part of a joint AVMA/AAVMC Adviso...ry Group of the Commission for a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Veterinary Profession. He is also frequently invited to speak at the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and National CE events. Island Cats also takes part in clinical trials advancing nutritional and pharmaceutical knowledge for the care of future patients. All this combines to create the best facility for feline patients to receive care, and for newly graduated veterinarians who are passionate about feline practice to receive top quality mentoring and to thrive in their careers.
