Located in The Plains, Virginia, The Piedmont Equine Practice provides medical care for horses in the surrounding counties of Fauquier, Rappahannock, Warren, Prince William, Loudoun, Clarke, Frederick, parts of Culpeper and Fairfax as well as some adjacent counties in Maryland and West Virginia. This area is known as Virginia Horse Country, and it is the center of foxhunting and three-day eventing in the United States. It is also home to an eclectic mix of show hunters, jumpers, dressage horses, flat and steeplechase race horses, and western performance horses. The Piedmont Equine Practice treats equine athletes at all levels in the above sports. We also treat valued trail horses, companions, and retirees. The Piedmont Equine Practice offers comprehensive care for competition horses, broodmares and their offspring, and geriatrics. Veterinarians in the practice have special interests in sports medicine and reproduction, they are trained in, and boarded in surgery and internal medicine and have obtained national certification to provide the alternative modalities of chiropractic and acupuncture.
