Location

Wilkes Veterinary Hospital proudly serves Wilkes County and surrounding North Carolina areas. Located in the foothills of North Carolina, Wilkes County is full of mountain heritage and traditions. Home to numerous historic places and museums, wineries, distilleries, and several recreation areas, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Looking to get out of town for the weekend, take a quick one-hour drive and explore Boone, Winston-Salem, or Charlotte.

Practice Overview

Here at Wilkes Veterinary Hospital, we pride ourselves on being a private practice who fosters a family-oriented work environment. Our team provides a wide variety of medical services for dogs, cats, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, and some small farm animals.  We are passionate veterinary professionals who love helping animals and people, which is why we work close with local shelters and rescue organizations.  Our team is committed to developing plans and solutions that meet the needs of our staff, patients, clients, and the community. What You’ll Be Working On

• Build and maintain current and prospective client relationships
• Preventative wellness care, diagnostics, and treatments on a variety of animal cases
• Perform small animal surgeries with opportunity for mentorship
• Ensure quality care and environment for both staff and clients

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent from an accredited program is required
• Be licensed or able to be licensed in the state of North Carolina required
• Minimum of two years of experience preferred
• Experience working in a private practice setting preferred
• Flexible with schedules - must be available to work every other Saturday, no after hours work required
• Knowledge and experience working internal medicine cases preferred
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
