We are located on Milwaukee’s fashionable Eastside - in-between the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin and downtown. We are only miles away from Lake Michigan, Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Summerfest grounds. We are 20 minutes West of Miller Park and the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds.

We are seeking a full time DVM; part time candidates will also be considered. We are accepting applications for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
We have a strong team of DVMs that are always there to support each other and are ready to help new grads develop their professional skills. Candidates should be prepared to perform routine soft tissue surgeries and comprehensive dentistry procedures. Our team is happy to provide mentorship and support wherever needed!
If a candidate has an area of special interest that we do not currently accommodate, we are always open to developing new services to fulfill different areas of expertise.

There are no holiday or after-hours emergency on call duties.
About Us:
Small Animal Hospital was founded in 1929, and it was the first small animal clinic in the city of Milwaukee. The hospital eventually outgrew its old location on Farwell Ave and moved to a newly constructed building on Newhall, just off of North Avenue, in 2003. Since then, the clinic has grown to accommodate 4 full time and 2-part time DVMs and a support staff of about 20.
Our modern facility is equipped with:
- New digital radiography machine
- Digital dental radiography
- Large, two table operating suite
- Quality anesthesia monitoring equipment as well as experienced CVT anesthesia-trained staff
- Two high-speed, fully equipped dental machines and designated wet table areas for dental procedures
- Companion cold therapy laser unit
- In-house chemistry and CBC analyzers as well as access to a broad range of diagnostic tests through multiple veterinary laboratories
- 6 full exam rooms with computer access to facilitate paperlite record keeping
- Nearby client access to exceptional referral and ER facilities
We service cats, dogs, and some exotic species – ferrets, rabbits, rodents and other pocket pets. Our staff is trained in Fear Free techniques and our DVMS are active members in the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Our client base is diverse and always growing. Many of our clients consist of dedicated, long-term pet owners who have been receiving care from our veterinarians throughout family generations. We also have an abundance of new pet owners, as we are always accepting new clients and we are in the heart of a busy, eclectic demographic.
