Veterinarian Needed
The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County is seeking a full or part-time staff veterinarian to provide high quality medical and surgical treatment of shelter animals and owned pets through our Community Clinic. Enjoy the best of both worlds by practicing shelter medicine and community medicine with a collaborative, supportive, fun team.
Previous experience in surgery or orthopedics, or interest in learning in these areas, is a plus. New grads are welcome to apply - we are committed to supporting professional and personal growth, and we value your personal time. We offer flexible hours to support your personal life – for example making it to your kid’s soccer game or doctor’s appointment – we make it work for you.
Full-time employment is 40 hours week, part-time can be anywhere from 8 to 37 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with schedule and experience. For reference, full-time 40 hours pay is 100k, with generous benefits including medical, dental, EAP, PTO and paid holidays. Salary is negotiable with experience. Great opportunity for a veterinarian looking to slow down from the corporate driven production model while still practicing high quality medicine.

* DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.

* Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Tennessee. New associates will be required to take their state USDA Accreditation class when they reach the 12-week mark from their hire date.)

* Appropriate State of Tennessee and DEA licensing to use controlled drugs.
