Soddy Daisy, TN 37379

Sequoyah Animal Hospital is a PRIVATE PRACTICE seeking 1-2 full-time veterinarians (would consider part time as well) to add to our busy, growing small animal and mixed animal practice. (The veterinarian would be able to choose which species they prefer to see or are comfortable seeing). We currently employ eight veterinarians between two small animal practices but we also have an ambulatory practice as well.
We are located in Soddy Daisy, TN, about 15 minutes outside of Chattanooga, but in an area that caters to those who might be looking for more space and fresh air. We love our clients and work to offer them tailor made medicine to fit their needs whether that includes a restricted budget or possible referral to a local specialty center.
We are a moderately fast paced hospital that offers:
- VetOvation / LigaSure vessel sealer
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy - with TCI capabilities
- Dental X-ray
- Heska IN HOUSE labs including CBC, Chemistries, Coag Machine, Epoc, Progesterone, Cortisol, Thyroid, etc.
- Urinalysis and Fecal Analyzer (Heska)
- Digital DR radiography
- Companion laser
- Dentistry
- Tono-vet
- Pulse oximeters and cardiac monitor including doppler
- Multiple infusion pumps as well as syringe pumps
- Various soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries - including Exploratories, Gastrotomies, Splenectomies, Resections, Amputations, etc.
- In addition, the practice is a Zoetis approved reproductive and freeze facility with some freeze storage availability.
- Digatherm - Thermal imaging
Our staff currently includes 4 veterinarians at our Sequoyah office, 6 dual trained receptionists and 2 more single purpose (at this time), 9 veterinary assistants/technicians (4 of which are surgery trained), 5 kennel technicians, an office manager and a practice manager, as well as 2 certified master trainers at the Sequoyah K9 Training Academy, and 4 groomers and 2 full-time bathers in our adjoining grooming facilities (Boarding, Grooming, and Training all have separate entrances).
The practice is centrally located within a 15,000 square foot building with adjoining K9 training business on one end and boarding facilities on the other. A grooming salon is also located next door to the practice. The practice has the ability to expand another 4,000 – 5,000 square feet. We provide a fully stocked pharmacy and have a well-equipped surgical suite. There is also 21 large (150-200 sq. ft.) outdoor private wooden double fenced kennels that are utilized to ensure all patients are comfortable, secure and have a chance to stretch their legs a bit when boarding. More outside kennels are being added this year. The hospital is continuously growing and expanding.
Soddy Daisy is a great place to live and work. It is conveniently located a very short drive outside of Chattanooga and the area provides plenty of fun and entertainment.....Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking the scenic trails, exploring the terrain. Hang gliding and ziplines are nearby for the thrill seekers. Camping, horseback riding trails, fantastic shopping, dining, escape rooms, the Chattanooga Aquarium, the Chattanooga Zoo and other entertainment is also within and few minutes of the hospital. Whether city life or nature is your passion, you'll find an abundance of both. From work, you could be in/on the lake, in the mountains, or downtown Chattanooga ... whichever one you prefer ALL WITHIN 15 MINUTES of leaving work!
We are excited about our growth and look forward to adding a new DVM or 2 to our team. All applicants should look at themselves as team players and advocates for the best patient care while being cognizant of our clients’ wishes and financial abilities.
There are additional opportunities available at our sister hospital as well as we have branched out. For those interested in large animal or equine medicine we have a mobile service to provide at home services for not only companion animals but large animals as well. We have fully equipped ambulatory truck to support our mobile services.
Salary and benefits are negotiable with commensurate experience. Hours and pay are very competitive. We are looking for associates with a desire to learn, good work ethic, and positive team outlook, but we also understand the need for a work/life balance as well.
New grads are welcome. (We have an excellent training program.)
Ownership opportunities are are also available.
