The Veterinary Medical Center of Central New York is located in Syracuse, NY, the #1 city to reside in NY according to U.S. News and Worlds Report 2017. Given its proximity to the Finger Lakes, this area boasts a plenitude of year round recreational activities, including hiking, running, kayaking, skiing and snowmobiling. Our hospital is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our 19,000 sq. ft. hospital was opened in December 2006 and features a separate emergency and specialty entrance and lobbies, 10 exam rooms, 2 surgical suites, 1 video-endoscopy room, a mobile ultrasound for ER use, oxygen cages, in-house CBC/Chemistry/Urine analysis, blood gas analyser, CT unit, and digital radiography. In addition, our in-house lab equipment includes a lactatometer, coagulation monitoring (PT/PTT), microscope, and blood typing/crossmatching. We are also fortunate enough to have an on-site regional IDEXX diagnostic reference laboratory. Blood products are available from an in-hospital blood donor program as well as an outside blood bank.
