Companion Animal Care Center in Winona, Minnesota is hiring a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join our team! New grads are welcome to apply!
About our clinic: Companion Animal Care Center is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the best in medical and surgical care. Our medical director, Dr. Ken Chaffin, bought the practice in 2000 and we moved into our incredible new facility in 2008. Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. We utilize the services of a board-certified internist to perform our diagnostic ultrasounds and echocardiograms as needed. We are paper-light and use Cornerstone for our electronic medical records. Our clinic also offers pet lodging and day camp in our state-of-the-art dog cabins and cat condos.
At CACC, we perform a large variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and dentistry. Our surgery suite contains a heated surgical table, CO2 cutting laser, a System One overhead light, electrocautery, and monitoring equipment. Dr. Chaffin performs extracapsular repairs and refers to a board-certified surgeon in the Twin Cities if more advanced orthopedic procedures are recommended. Our dental equipment includes an iM3 dental machine with high and low speed drill and scaler handpiece, wet table, and dental radiography. Pre-anesthetic lab work, IV catheter, and IV fluids are required for all patients undergoing general anesthesia. We recommend cold laser therapy post-op for all patients. Furthermore, we have hydrotherapy to help our patients with rehabilitation and conditioning.
Most importantly, we have a phenomenal, well-educated support staff with a 2:1 technician to doctor ratio. Dr. Chaffin has worked very hard to create a collaborative environment and healthy work-life balance for all employees. At CACC, we have a positive work culture where everyone enjoys working together. To round out the group, our practice manager, Lela, keeps us all on track and our practice running smoothly.
Our practice is open Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm and Saturdays, 8 am to 12 pm. We are looking for someone to work a 4-day work week with alternating Saturdays. You can learn more about our amazing practice at caccwinona.com.
