We are an established, two veterinarian, small animal practice in Binghamton, NY. Located in the Southern Tier of NY, we are a busy, small animal & exotics practice with an awesome team and excellent clientele. We practice the best medicine and surgery we know including referrals when appropriate. We offer preventive medicine, hospitalization (no ICU), surgery, digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, send-out specialty testing, dentistry, chemotherapy, integrative pain management, physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, and palliative care.
We are looking for a New York State licensed/registered veterinarian whose responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating sick or injured animals and providing routine preventive care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, and some reptiles. Duties will also include administering medication and performing surgery. Fur and Feathers Veterinary Care (FFVC) emphasizes giving advice to owners on how to properly care for their pets, teaching owners about their pets, and proper pet care. We are a paper light facility utilizing Electronic Medical Records. We currently provide care during a 40 hour work week with no weekend hours. We do not do emergency after-hours work.
Successful applicants should also possess the following specific qualities:
- Knowledge of animal behavior—strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Compassion—must be compassionate when working with animals and their owners
- Interpersonal skills—good communication and interpersonal skills
- Manual dexterity—outstanding dexterity in handling small animals while performing precise tasks
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, treatment and surgery
- Decision making skills—ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the well being of an animal
- Adaptable, collaborative, helpful, problem solver, team player
- Management skills—quick thinking and self-starter
