Oneonta Veterinary Hospital in Oneonta, NY is seeking an associate veterinarian to join our growing team! We are a full-service, multi-doctor hospital that provides quality veterinary care for companion animals and a variety of pocket pets. Our doctors enjoy practicing in a facility equipped with many features, including laser therapy, a new dental x-ray unit, digital x-rays, eight exam rooms, a surgery suite, and separate doctor offices, just to name a few. The caring and experienced support staff, which includes three LVTs and three assistants, are dedicated to our patients, clients, and community. We anticipate bringing on more support staff in the near future as we continue to grow.
We take great pride in our community connections, working with great organizations such as the rescue group, Super Heroes in Ripped Jeans, helping to treat injured and sick animals, spaying and neutering, and vaccinating. Our facility also has a fenced in dog park that is free for the community to use.
New grads are encouraged to apply. This is the perfect opportunity for a new graduate to be successful under the mentorship and guidance of our collaborative team of doctors with a wide range of experience and areas of interest. There are no on call shifts or after hours requirements, we also offer a flexible schedule.
Oneonta, nicknamed "City of the Hills," is a fantastic place to live and work. This is a rural community with lots of outdoor activities year-round such as farmer's markets, smaller hikes, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, kayaking/canoeing, and swimming. We are close to so many great attractions, such as the Baseball Hall of Fame, museums, Glimmerglass Opera, and Otsego Lake. Also, NYC, Albany, the Adirondacks (excellent hiking and all other outdoor activities), and the Finger Lakes are all a day trip away.
Cornell University Vet Hospital is about 1.5 hours away and is a good resource for CE events and referrals for difficult cases.
We offer competitive salary, medical benefits (including health, dental and vision), 401(k), employee assistance program (EAP), CE allowance, vacation, dues, liability coverage, mentorship and so much more.
