About Us
FREP is a growing Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Practice based in Berthoud, Colorado, with monthly visits to Steamboat Springs, CO and twice monthly visits to Laramie, WY alternating between associate veterinrians. We are seeking a third veterinarian to join and grow with us as we expand into our new clinic and rehabilitation center. We have patients and clients of all disciplines, from high end english and western performance horses to the companion mini donkey. We pride ourselves in offering our patients the best in chiropractic care and state-of-the-art sports medicine to empower them to realize their peak performance.

About the Position
We are seeking a THIRD Veterinarian to grow with us. The successful candidate will have or be mentored to develop strong lameness, diagnostic imaging, and sports injury rehabilitation skills. Additionally, he or she must believe in, learn and perform complementary therapy (chiropractic & acupuncture) as this is a large part of our practice. We seek a team member who takes pride in their work and has initiative to go above and beyond required duties to exceed customer expectations and to be a partner in growing the business. We seek someone who has a drive to learn and develop themselves professionally with a long-term career goal of equine veterinary sports medicine.
Business Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Offices closed for appointments on all major holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day. Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Half day on New Year’s Eve).
Caseload: Complementary therapies (chiropractic & acupuncture), lameness, diagnostic imaging and injury rehabilitation.
Staff includes:
- 2 full time veterinarians, 1 practice manager, 1 rehabilitation/facility manager, 4 full time veterinary technicians, 1 part time veterinary technician, 1 full time and 1 part time receptionist/office assistant
Facilities include:
- 4 stall rehabilitation facility with indoor arena on 35 acres, expected to expand to 10 stall patient capacity with water treadmill within 12 months.
- Heated garage for veterinary trucks
- On site offices
Equipment includes:
- Digital X-Ray systems (VetRocket), Digital Ultrasounds, 3.5 meter MAI Gastroscope, IRAP/PRP systems, Pro-Stride systems, Neo-Vet 2.0 Shockwaves, Rapid Release Technology, Class 4 Lasers
- Medical Record Software: eVetPractice
- Practice cell-phone, laptop and hot-spot provided
- Vehicle with a stocked vet box and automobile insurance is provided
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be a personable, reliable professional with outstanding client development and communication skills. The candidate will want to expand their professional expertise as a member of a skilled team that provides its clients with state-of-the-art Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation that empowers patients to realize their peak performance. Because a large component of our practice is complementary medicine utilizing chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, and laser therapy to aid in injury rehabilitation, the successful candidate will have a strong interest and belief in these modalities.

We are located in Berthoud, CO - less than an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park and 15 minutes from amazing hiking, mountain biking, fishing, 4 wheeling, camping, boating, and playgrounds for all of the outdoor activities. We are a 45 minute drive from Denver and 25 minutes from Fort Collins, and 35 minutes from Boulder which makes our location the perfect jumping off point to enjoy Colorado sporting events (GO BRONCOS!), concerts, and top tier restraunds and night life. Requirements:
- Must have completed 1 year general practice internship with strong lameness and diagnostic imaging component.
- Desired: 1 year general practice internship with 1+ additional years with strong lameness and diagnostic imaging experience.
- Acupuncture and chiropractic certification desired, but not required. If not possessed, must obtain these certifications within 6 months of starting, with financial burden covered by FREP, and will be mentored by our Veterinarians.
- Must be willing to travel (away from home base 3-5 days at a time every other month) and work well with other Veterinarians.
- Must be a team player and a great communicator.
- Veterinarians and employees will alternate holiday and weekend on-call for rehabilitation patients.
- We do not provide primary on-call services, however may respond to a rare emergency if a good client’s primary veterinarian is unavailable.
- Must be eligible to obtain CO, WY and SD veterinary licenses and USDA accreditation.
- A background check and on-site interview required.
- Excellent driving record required.
