We are seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our team at West Loop Animal Hospital, a well-established (over 40 years) 2.5-doctor, small animal practice located in Longview, Texas.  While dogs and cats make up many of our patients, approximately 10% are avian/exotics.  No experience necessary for exotic work, but experience is highly preferred in small animal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry.  We highly value a positive and friendly demeanor, and a desire to cultivate great working relationships with both staff and clients.  If you are interested in a leadership or management role, the opportunity to transition into a Medical Directorship is also available.  Ultimately, our hope is to match your professional and personal goals with our practice's needs.

Our hospital’s mission is to not only offer sound advice, but also optimal medical, surgical, and dental care.  To ensure we meet AAHA standards, we have a variety of tools and gadgets at our disposal.  This includes a well-stocked pharmacy, two surgery suites, a dental suite with digital radiography (including full body), six exam rooms, ultrasound, Idexx in-house lab, cold laser, and Cornerstone PIMS with electronic medical records (EMR).

Our associate veterinarians have a four-day work week (we are closed on weekends!) with ample time off.  After hour emergencies are handled by nearby emergency clinics.  We believe that a good balance of work and personal time is needed for a healthy mind and body. 

Available to our ideal candidate is a competitive base salary with the opportunity to earn production bonuses.  We also provide:

West Loop Animal Hospital is in Longview – a beautiful small city of 82,000 in Northeastern Texas between Dallas and Shreveport, Louisiana.  Our area consists of rolling hills, pasturelands, hardwood & pine forests, and river bottoms.  Convenient shopping with an indoor mall and many major retailers (Dillard’s, Kohl’s, Target, Walmart, and Starbucks) draws over 200,000 people each year.  Longview is also the home of LeTourneau University as well as Kilgore College and University of Texas – Tyler.

We are also home to 10 miles of continuous hiking and bike trails, 2 public dog parks, over 30 public parks, 5 splash pads, a public golf course, and 6 athletic complexes.  There are several public and private lakes nearby for boating and water sports.  With a relatively low cost of living, affordable housing, and good schools, Longview is a great place to live and raise a family.
