Woodside Equine Clinic offers multiple externships throughout the year at our equine only practice located in Ashland, Virginia. During the externship individuals are exposed to both ambulatory and clinical settings. Externships range from one week to multiple weeks. Externs work closely with our entire team (veterinarians, interns, and technician staff) to provide care to our patients. The volume and diversity of cases seen at the clinic will provide you an opportunity for advancement of skill set and knowledge base. You will gain experience becoming competent and proficient with a multitude of different emergency, surgery, sports medicine, imaging, and internal medicine skills.
Externships at Woodside Equine Clinic are offered to current veterinary students, with a preference given to 3rd and 4th year students.
Woodside Equine Clinic is an ambulatory and hospital-based practice located near Richmond, VA. We currently employ 10 veterinarians, 3 licensed technicians, 2 interns and a great staff. We value our collaborative environment with 3 surgeons, a theriogenologist, board eligible dentist and sports medicine orientated doctors with backgrounds in ISELP, chiropractic and acupuncture. Woodside Equine Clinic does strive to have a great working environment and encourages the veterinarians and staff to pursue their areas of interest.
Our case load is predominately English sport horse. Many of our clients show hunters but there are dressage, jumpers, trail and many other disciplines in the area. We see many warm bloods along with thoroughbreds, ponies and may other breeds.
Woodside Equine Clinic is a well managed practice and member of a Veterinary Management Group. We strive to have an enjoyable practice culture and encourage professional growth of our employees.
